Tadao Ando, 2013. Wonju, Gangwon-do, Korea. Name: Space-Art-Nature. Houses a permanent James Turrell wing.
Provenance - where he pointed
Pointed at by Namjoon.

@rkive, Aug 18 2019, preserved via @choi_bts2 tweet. Four photos: Namjoon at the reflecting pool of Ando’s architecture, the museum signage, and Whanki Kim’s Red Dot paintings (one with Namjoon in frame, looking up at the work). The pointer is the destination itself - the room IS the work in the Ando-as-architect sense. Separate collections hang in it, but the building unifies them.
Why it matters - the door
Namjoon went, and I wanted to go. The architectural pilgrimage: Tadao Ando’s space, light treated structurally, in Korea. The James Turrell wing is the immediate draw on my axis; the building itself is the rest.
Grows into
- 留白 - the transcendent register, architecturally framed.
Branches
(none yet - visit pending. When I go, the visit becomes the first branch.)
Whanki Kim sits in Namjoon’s photos but not yet in the garden. Candidate branch if his Red Dot paintings take when I see them.
