Modern and contemporary arm of the Tate (London). Bankside Power Station converted by Herzog & de Meuron, opened 2000, expanded 2016. Permanent collection plus large-scale temporary exhibitions in the Turbine Hall.
Encountered. The visit landed via the Cy Twombly room: a strong impression that’s part of why Twombly stays on my axis.

The door - why it matters
Bright red, overwhelming were the two things that came in mind when I entered the room. Probably one of the earliest works that evoked such a raw emotion in me. His art is seen nonsensical to a lot of people, but that’s what I love about it, it keeps me wanting more.
