Li Qing, A Suite of Eight Rooms, 2015. The first piece of his Art Museum Suite series: eight furnished rooms (salon, study, studio, bedroom, dining room, karaoke room, shower booth, bathroom) strung along a corridor, each fitted with matching furniture and hung with his own paintings and photographs. His window paintings fold media images into everyday landscape (the red “ART” piece glowing over the study desk), so the space reads as one artist’s life laid open to walk through. Threaded into the raw concrete and brick of the Arario basement, the rooms feel half-abandoned, half-inhabited.
