The Art of Mark Rothko. Portland Art Museum, the Rothko Gallery in the new Rothko Pavilion, opened November 20, 2025. A rotating display drawn from a twenty-year loan by the artist’s children, in the city where Rothko (born Marcus Rothkowitz) spent his childhood. On this visit: an early representational landscape and two of the late color-field canvases.
